Is Lithuania Safe?
Probably the last thing Lithuanian would worry about a foreigner friend is his/her safety. Opposite to that, locals are proud that no natural life-threatening risks, such as wild animals or plans, earthquakes, storms or tides, will stress the travelers. The chances are very low to get hurt on the streets or to be deceived buying service.
"I have met or guided round 4000 travelers from around the world. To my personal experience Lithuania is safe for the tourists. I honestly have never heard any sad travelers stories concerning safety.

One of the reasons that insures the tourist and teh locals is trusting the Police. Lithuanians have experienced remarkable increase of Trusting the police since ten years. People feel as they can trust the officers in danger or when a small help is needed. Most of the officers are able to speak english, so they can help foreigners as well.
Lithuanian cities used to have one or few "red tag" dangerous districts. However, many of those districts had changed for good and safe. For being more relaxed, we recommend consulting your guide or local friend to provide you with the list of "heads up" places in particular town.

Why did you pick Lithuania for your weekend travel?
-It was a cheap flight to go and I also wanted discover this part of Europe. My girlfriend was not happy for my choice because of a conflict with Russia. She said, that I should come back home as quick as possible if the war started.

Coronavirus in Lithuania lost it's importance after Lithuanians focused on helping Ukraine to win the war with Russia. Few people still chose wearing masks on the crowded spots, however no official restrictions on the public transport, events etc..
For any non resident tourist medical service will be paid. The European residents will be refunded for any urgent medical service in home-country after providing papers proving their expenses.
In urgent situations patients are taken care by ambulance. In other cases people can choose between private or state clinics/hospitals. Travelers would probably choose private medical service as it is easier and quicker.
Since 2015 Lithuania adopted Euro. Currency exchange is possible on the stations, touristic spots or shopping malls. For travelers using ATM machine we recommend using SEB, Medus, Luminor, Swebank ir other local banks' machines.
One trip public transport ticket costs up to 1eur. That allows to go with the same bus, trolleybus or funicular till the last stop. Using a transport application provides with a tickets valid on any city transport for 30-60 min.
For the taxi we recommend using Bolt application in Lithuania. In case you hire another taxi, make sure to pay not more than 3,5eur/km (this is the Saturday night rate). If you suspect that price is overrated, call 112 and inform the police officers. Taxi drivers are not allowed to deceive tourists in any city.
